NIX Academy opened its doors in September 2023 at The Warehouse in Hampton Wick, starting with just 20 students. For Nicky, the founder and principal of NIX Academy, the dream of having her own dance school was personal. As someone who is dyslexic and has ADHD, Nicky found that school was never her "safe space", dance was. It offered her a sense of belonging, confidence, and the freedom to express herself, which traditional education couldn’t provide.

Recognizing a gap in the local dance scene, Nicky decided to create a space where high-level training and a supportive, fun environment could coexist. NIX Academy was born from her belief that confidence and happiness are the true foundations of success. If a child is too scared to ask questions or lacks the right expectations and boundaries, they aren't being given the opportunity to thrive.

Fast forward to today, and NIX Academy has grown far beyond its humble beginnings. We now have our own bespoke premises, over 100 students, and a faculty of amazing, dedicated teachers. But what truly makes NIX Academy special are the incredible students and families who make up our community. Their passion, energy, and dedication embody the spirit of NIX Magic - a magic that isn’t just about perfecting steps, but about believing in yourself, taking risks, and growing both on and off the stage.

At NIX, students leave each class with not only performance skills but life skills they carry into their classrooms and beyond. Our fun, inclusive environment proves that having high expectations doesn’t mean lowering the experience. It’s exactly what children and teenagers need to thrive.
